NIKWAFLORA

Terranikwa, a leading flower production farm located on the Outeniqua mountains’ southern slopes, has embraced sustainability by implementing a cutting-edge solar energy solution to address its high electricity bills and loadshedding challenges. This modern farm, known for its diverse array of flowers including Aralia, Rice Flower, Viburnum, and Leucodendron, relies on advanced Israeli propagation techniques for cultivation. To ensure consistent production and efficiency, Terranikwa partnered with us to install a solar system featuring 90kW Victron inverters, Fronius solar controllers, and Freedom Won batteries.

This integrated solar solution significantly reduces Terranikwa’s dependence on the grid, mitigating the effects of erratic electricity supply and high costs. The Victron inverters efficiently convert solar power for the farm’s use, while the Fronius solar controllers maximize panel performance, ensuring optimal energy capture. The Freedom Won batteries store excess energy, providing a reliable power reserve during loadshedding or nighttime.

This transition to solar energy not only enhances Terranikwa’s sustainability credentials but also ensures uninterrupted flower production, setting a new standard for agricultural resilience. By adopting solar power, Terranikwa demonstrates the viability of renewable energy in overcoming operational challenges, serving as an inspiration for other farms. This project highlights our commitment to delivering sustainable, reliable energy solutions that support the agricultural sector’s move towards a greener, more efficient future.
